Clara Adam's Essay (4th Grade - Amelia Earhart Intermediate School) -

My daddy is in the Air Force.  I had no daddy five years ago.  He filled the hole in my heart that my old dad did not.  Back in Oklahoma me and my dad went to a daddy daughter dance.  At the dance he was shy to dance with me.  But he danced with me anyway.  My dad had a dog named Babbies.  I was happy to have another dog.  I am happy that my daddy is in my life now.  Love Clara.

Christopher Dorr's (Clara's dad) Response To The Essay -

My reaction to my daughter's essay tugged at my heart.  She is a wonderful kid.  I am very proud that she calls me daddy.  I could not imagine my life without her in it.  My daughter has a good heart and is a very sweet and kind little girl.  If there is one thing I could change that our lives would have come together earlier.  She would not have spent five years of her life without her daddy.  I am blessed she is my little girl.

WORDS OF ADVICE-

MOST SIGNIFICANT FATHERING EXPERIENCE - I have two significant experiences one when a five year old little girl loved and trusted me enough to call me daddy. The second one is the day I married her mom I made a promise to her that I will always love her, protect her and that I will never leave her.

BEST FATHERING ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED - There is no handbook to

parenting you will make mistakes you will learn as you go no matter what make sure she is loved and protected and everything else will fall into place_

WHAT SPECIFIC WAYS DO YOU PARTICIAPTE IN YOUR CHILD(REN)S LIVES

Every night me and my daughter do home work we also go on bike rides and workout together we also go see movies and play sports._

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE AS A DAD - Not knowing what I am doing coming into a little girls life and not having any experience being a dad it has been a rocky road but I wouldn't trade this life for any others.
